Random Crap

Oh man, I'm so "frugged"

I have 5 textbooks that I'm trying to sell, a printer and beddings (duvet, pillows etc) to give away and possibly some kitchen stuff too.

Exam was quite smooth flow despite the fact that I had to bear with a bursting bladder for 3 hours. Lesson learned. No liquid before exam, especially exam that takes 3 hours to complete.
Weeee, just another exam on Friday and it's going to be over! We have some activities planned out and dinner gatherings with friends whom I haven't seen for quite a long time. Oh, the exam on Friday is just an hour kinda deal, extra "weee" factor to that! ;)

I'm so freaking tired today. Came home and took a short nap before indulging myself with unhealthy activity of watching tvb series on crunchyroll. =P Life is good when there's no stress, just some pampering moments before dwelling back into the reality.

This Friday is going to come fast. I can smell and feel it. It's the beginning of another phase of life and all I can imagine is happiness. At least this is a good indication. I'm thinking of going to Vegas to Celine Dion's concert. Ahhh my idol. Her voice, my God.....God, you are so unfair but you been truly nice to her and indirectly, nice to us cuz she can keep on entertaining us.

Well, really been through a lot for the past 9 months. Ok, I've traveled a lot. =D It's been great being able to go to all the places that I've always wanted to go. Bought a lot of expensive stuff from Europe (*bleeding*). Living by myself for so many months (I've lived with G for 6 years before this). Quite an achievement you know! I used to be a spoilt demanding human being. Even though I knew I could do something, I just let G handled it. It's really that bad. Got my reality check now and from now on, I'm going to be independent and enjoying every moment of it. No remorse. A step I took to reminiscence and mark my step of adulthood. Bravo!

We bought a new SUV today!!! =) It's bigger, gas guzzling SUV. I know in times like these, it's not really too wise to be buying something like that but it's a Lexie so it's going to worth the investment. After all, toyota engine runs for a long long time and we don't plan to discard this piece of machine that soon. It's going to be for at least 6-7 years. Can't wait to plan our winter activities with this new cool machine! It looks something like this: (also same color, white with beige interior)

Yeah, another SUV for us. Actually I really hate small cars to be honest. I love cars that exert masculinity (macho macho) and this fact applies to my choice in men too. hehehe I don't discriminate but given options, that's my preferred choice.

So, that does another hole in the pocket. Dun really know how many more holes can we withstand with all the big budget stuff coming up such as wedding. Any "ah loong" (loan shark) wanna lend me some moolah?

Ok, just crapping won't promise any monetary returns, so I better go and start looking for a job! Anyone interested to hire me?

Ciao!

Mary Jane versus Cali Wedge

Friday.

Last day of class.

Exam is next week.

How do I feel? *-* Not really sure how to dictate my feelings but I think it's lost in the sea of freedom..does it make any sense? It's in between kinda feeling.

Nothing much happened today. Just some mundane grocery shopping with Marine and a lot of walking!

You know, I'm suspecting the girls here don't gain weight that easily because of constant walking. Mary Janes, slacks, hideous bright colored tops, this is the usual scene on the streets here. Thanks to Topshop, they are wearing those vivid purple, green or mustard clothings!! I must confess that I absolutely have no interests with British fashion!! Cali style is still better.

The clock is ticking and in less than 2 weeks, I'm leaving. I'm glad that my eyes won't be blinded by those vivid colors out on the streets once I'm back in Cali but at the same time, there's a sense of reluctance in my heart too. After all, it's been good old 9 months and it just went by like a tornado sweeping all the cows and birds out in the farm. Oooo boy!

Gee, guess it's time to get back to studying, three chapters tonight...Yeah baby! I can do it! Tell me so.....=|

Wedding photography

Maybe I should blog about the process of wedding pics taking that took place in HK.

The night before:

-had Vietnamese food for dinner with Dr.Dominic and family, location: Times Square, very delicious!
-had Haagen Dazs fondue complimentary of Asia Miles and delicious HK tong sui (black sesame with 'dau foo fa"), tar pao and makan inside hotel room cuz got harborview =)
-Had so much food, was kinda worried that tummy would show the next morning, but what the heck, didn't really care that much after good night sleep hehe

The morning before:

-woke up around 8am, damn, gosok gigi, out of hotel room to makan something first
-Breakfast buffet!!! =D Super yummy, I gulped down 5 glasses of juice, ya I got another stomach for juice, hehe...carrot juice, kiwi juice, mixed fruits juice, apple juice and orange juice! All fresh!Buffet complimentary of Excelsior HK ;) Didn't really eat that much except that they had those instantly made chinese noodles, had a bowl
-spent another 30mins minum kopi and chit chatting
-Went back to hotel room, got the stuff needed and back to lobby
-Taxi

On arrival:

-Some couples were already ready for the shoot
-One of the assistants quickly gave me my dress, asked me if i needed to go toilet, YES! arggghhh, bladder bursting
-Hair girl, Wing, extremely professional and very very nice! She helped me create the style to match with dress and my face, i asked for "simple"
-Gary forgot his shoes! NICE! (&#(JDNO@D*&@(JEJ had to hail a taxi back to hotel
-Wing was doing my hair and makeup for almost an hour, another nice aunty was helping her to curl my hair, my hair damn long!hehe
-Ready for pictures, I had totally forgotten about my groom, ok, he was outside waiting
-Met photographer, short, small with long hair, that's Matt, his helper, Sam (nerdy)

Photography session:

-Matt took a picture of me and Gary, asking us if we would like to show our teeth or not, took two digital pics to show us the difference, we opted for "TEETH SHOWING", i prefer more natural look hehe
-We also requested for more outdoor pics instead of indoor
-Okay so he click clack click clack, the first hour was very fun but after that, no more fun, my mouth started to feel numb
-We spent about 2 hours for the first wedding dress
-Next, a different wedding dress

So.........

-Ok, another hour of hair curling, makeup
-I was wearing a dress with princessy sleeve and different hairstyle (hair tied up like a bun) and hair piece with matching jeweleries
-Outside click clack click clack, different backdrop
-All of a sudden, Matt stopped and he was staring at my face
-He said the hair not nice, have to do it again!!! Arggggghhhhhh =S ok i respect his professionalism
-Had to do my hair again, spent probably another 45 minutes, Wing didn't complain but I felt really bad for her
-Hair done and again, click clack click clack
-Connie arrived, she secretly snapped some using her digital camera hehe (not permitted, guests not allowed either, Connie was an exception)
-This second dress, we spent about 2-3hours outside

Third dress:

-Ok, mouth cannot move, so tired
-Almost 7pm, duh, kinda hungry but didnt have anything to eat FARK, no choice had to drink water instead
-It's indoor time
-hair and makeup again and different dress (a gold dress)
-Almost everyone left already, including the workers
-Click clack click clack

Fourth dress:

-Purplish and pink dress, very girly hehe
-Hair and makeup, Wing had to wait until im done in order for her to leave, poor thing
-click clack click clack
-11pm, done!
-Eyes already started to shut
-Mouth really cannot move
-Needed some chewing gum

It's a wrap!

-took a taxi to happy valley
-had hotpot with Connie, that girl, she's really great, waited for 9 hours!
-Hotpot restaurant owner is To Dai Yu's brother
-Extremely hungry, bill HKD1500, Connie insisted it's her treat cuz we're in HK to visit, next time, when shes back in US, it's our turn =)
-gave the flower to Connie cuz there's no way I'm bringing that back to KL
-took taxi back to hotel
-didn't use the voucher for free supper buffet =(

Tong sui time again!

-Had tong sui again, hahaha, it's just across the street from our hotel, behind Sogo
-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz so damn tired

The whole experience, damn tiring! All I can say.....not fun at all, really salute those models...

Request Time!

Okay so here you go, taken by Connie, a friend residing in HK....

No, Connie is just a friend whom took the time out to accompany us for the shoot, she's not the photographer

We didn't have time to wait for the pictures, so, just this for now until we head to HK once again, possibly July/August...man, talking about being broke...sigh

Enjoy

Reno just last week...

Snowing so heavily as if we traveled back to Christmas time

Double whammy

This morning as I was enjoying my sleep, dreaming of the unnecessary, that f* fire alarm rang for two times! WHAT THE F WAS THAT! That thing is getting out of control!

The constant false alarm is making me a loonie! It makes me feel like the school canteen back in my high school days where the alarm rings and rings for two to three times.

If there's a real fire, trust me, most of the students going to be taking their time walking down the stairs and everybody ends up like fire charcoal grilled baby back ribs! Touchwood..

The stupid "alarm" clock

GRRRR....i'm going to kill someone now! That f""king fire alarm was triggered around 4am!

Quay Point seriously needs to get somebody to fix it...it's so damn annoying...twice a day, that's so not acceptable by my lenient standard

I didn't even bother to walk out of my room and just waited for the alarm to stop. Seriously, who says students don't need to sleep??? I'm going to sue their ass and act all ridiculous if this prolongs..man, I don't need the fire alarm to wake me up every morning...i have my alarm clock to do just that!

Living my life to the fullest?

Today is the last day of study week. So did I do anything worthwhile? In the past one week, I only left my room for one time. =S It wasn't voluntary but it was because I had to return some books and to stock up some food in order to survive the winter brutality.

Haven't been getting much sleep lately. My sleeping hour is messed up. I'm sleeping around 11am and then waking up around 4pm. The cycle continues. I can see my eye bags now. Dammit!
Originally I scheduled for 4 days of work and 3 days of rest. That's too much eh? hehe...but you know, this week, i only had one day break and that's because I was feeling dizzy from the red wine I consumed. So I went to sleep around 9pm, only to find myself waking up at 3am wondering what the hell I'm supposed to do.

I seriously need to push myself back to normal mode again or else, I'm going to live up to the name of living zombie!

Ok, I shall take a shower now, freshen up, make dinner, read, structure the questionnaire and go to bed! BAH!

out now!

Ewwwwwww

I bought the brita jug almost a month ago after a friend recommended that I should get it since the quality of water is not too good here. Look at the yellow line!!!Oh my God!

Imagine drinking those stuff =S

After drinking the filtered water, I actually feel better and the quality of water is really good and crisp. Best of all, it helps to get rid of the foul odor of the water.

Awesome video!

WARNING:the tune will get stuck in your head!

The thing about Feng Shui

Do you believe in feng shui?

I'm not so much of a believer but I do believe in Buddhist teaching of bad karma, reincarnation etc etc. I've been practising the teachings of Buddhism ever since I was 3/4 years old. I can still remember there used to be this "si fu" coming to my house to do prayers every week. I think 3 times a week. We had to lay some pillows on the floor and then holding a book (mantra), walking in circles and chanted something. My mom said I used to know how to do the chanting but now that I'm an adult, I cannot recall even one bit. "Om ni beh meh hoom" that's all I can remember.

Si fu passed away few years ago. From what dad told me, si fu used to have a family and kids. But he decided to leave his family and became a monk. He traveled frequently to India to practice Buddhism. I used to see him without shoes and he was quite old back then, around 80 something. I think he left this world for heaven when he was 90+. He gave us a framed picture of the little Dalai Lama. Little Dalai Lama is going to succeed the place of the old dalai lama or something. I'm not sure. I found this:

"Upon the death of the Dalai Lama, his monks institute a search for the Lama's reincarnation, or yangsi (yang srid), a small child. Familiarity with the possessions of the previous Dalai Lama is considered the main sign of the reincarnation. The search for the reincarnation typically requires a few years. The reincarnation is then brought to Lhasa to be trained by the other Lamas."

Omigod, that makes me think, what if my kid in the future is the dalai lama?????? Are they going to take my child away????=O hmmm is this some kind of blessing or something else?

Talking about lama, my mom recommended that I get my fortune read from this monk in Kepong. I did go there and I'm quite surprised with the things he told me. He didn't ask for my "see sun bat chi"(time and day of birth), he just told me to pick 3 cards. Kinda like tarot to me. hehe Well so do i believe what he said? I'd say PARTIAL. Not all. He did say that I will have good career. WAHHHHAHAHAHAA!! I hope this is true. But it struck me that there are things which I really need to improve on especially when it comes to my "fire cracker" temper.
I really need to work on that. Anyone wanna go and have your fortune read? Let me know, I can provide the address. =P

Oh I just bought a Dzi Bead for Gary. Heard it's good? I'm not sure. Maybe. Well, I live with the phrase "never try, never know". So Gary will be the victim of my feng shui experiment. 40 bucks, I can certainly justify that.

The 9 Eyes Dzi Bead

I will update with the results, if any. =D

I'm out!

Weekend Blogging

It's official! I get one week study break.

I'm trying to get my head and brain straightened up to start typing and writing for the freaking OH-SO-STUPID literature review. I don't get it. How come we have to copy what others have said or researched on? It makes the whole process so errr DUMB.

I'm not sure how I'm going to come up with my findings but if I need help with questionnaire, I hope you guys can help me!!! I know it's so damn boring but J*EY#ORHFNHKWND DO I HAVE A CHOICE??? DO YOU? NO!! hehe Oh ya, my final is about product line extensions just to give you guys a rough idea.

Last night I passed by M&S and saw their 20% off on all alcoholic beverages. Man, the power or marketing! I went in there and bought other non related items cost me 20 quid! bleh! This month I happy happy spent a lot of money!! Double of my usual spending. Brr, I'm really trying to lead a more prudent life you know (yea yea I know).

Ummm, okay for the month of March, I will set goals. OK? Realistic ones.

March:

1-Spend wisely, no more unnecessary purchases.

2-Finish up my final thesis

3-Clean the mess on my table

4-Stop buying excessively and throwing food away

5-Start drafting the list for banquet (ARGHHH pull hair)

6-Call mom more often

7-Eat healthily especially more veggies and less on junk

8-Do laundry (haha you know, i do it once a month =P)

9-Weekend room cleaning

10-Fulfill promises that I've made! Oh, and stop scratching my face too much! hehe

April is going to be exciting as I'm flying to several different countries!! Yay! Holidays! I haven't been to HK in two years and hope to spend a good time there in April. KL rocks! Time to spend time with my family. The other day my brother's daughter talked to me on the phone. She is around 2 years old and the conversation was something like this:

Me: Hello Mun Mun (her name la)
MM:Hello Por Por (WTF!)
Me:Errr, wo bu ser por por! Ah goo, bu ser por!
MM: Ba ba
Me: ???????? ^O^
MM:Ba Ba Por Por Ice Cream
Me: HUH?

Then my brother came to my rescue. She finally yelled GOO!!! OK, I will buy her ice cream when I'm home. Kids.

I'm out!

Gong Hei Nei Gong Hei Nei

I'm feeling so knocked out today. I skipped the 9am class this morning. Well, let's call it the post-V day hangover. I managed to drag my ass to the next class around 11am and breeze through the next class until 4pm. I can really feel the intense pressure for this semester and since this is the last semester, what else is better than convincing myself that it's all worth it.

Today is supposedly my day off from all the papers, all the assignments, just a day for me to chill out. However, I don't intend to stick to my day off policy and plan on reading a bit more on the topic I have selected. My supervisor is good but he's not being a great help. I would say he's very autocratic and he only wants to read what he fancies. This has caused quite a commotion to my brain of thoughts. Do I please him or do I follow my heart? Maybe I should go to another lecturer to get a second opinion? I plan on asking my international advertising lecturer for his comment on the topic.

Semester one results are coming out one by one. I would say I did fairly okay. How good is good anyway? I've tried my best and not to impose more pressure on my fragile little mind and heart. Well, anything that happens after the exam is out of anyone's control. When I was younger, I always tried to strive or to push myself so that I can stay on top of things. Not anymore. I'm always adopting the more relaxing approach now. You just take life as it comes.

I called mom this morning to talk about her CNY celebration. By the way, it's on the 18th. As usual, not doing much except going to the "pasar" to buy her groceries to stuff the refrigerator.
It's so sweet of Gary because he personally forked out $500 to send to my mom for CNY for her to buy "food" and didn't even tell me about that. He just told me like moments ago. I'm sure mom is going to be so happy. Never expected Gary to do that cuz that guy is quite a stingy person. =P What about me? So what did I give myself? Like Gary, I gave my mom ang pow too!hahaha I love my mom to death. I'm so afraid sometimes. Afraid that my parents will leave me someday. I have made a plan to visit places with her this year. She has reconstructive surgery to fix her femur soon so I have promised to bring her to all the places she wanna go after that.

Alright time to get back to my papers. =)

Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Hei Fatt Choi! Sun lin fai lok!

Almost Weekend Blogging

Palmier

My muffins (my friend has started to call me ms.muffin)

My favorite lambrusco CHEAP CHEAP! Only 79p!

Went to M&S today to stock on some food and essentials. It's going to be a snowing week so better do some preparations. I'm happily devouring the palmier I bought from the bakery but too bad, when I came home, it's already broken into two(for those who dunno what the heck is that, it's actually a kind of pastry in the shape of heart). Bad omen?!!! Oh wait, just me being superstitious...won't geh....choi choi choi! =P

Today I had three classes, two in the am and one in the pm. The lecturer damn gila wei. That fella can talk for hours. When we wanna give suggestions or voice out our opinions, he would give us like 30 seconds!! And he continued yakking happily...hmmm...I already got a psycho lecturer who likes to jump on the table, now this one joins the rank by being the psycho blabber HOLY MOLY CHRIST JESUS BUDDHA ALLAH.

I was checking my BMI just now and I'm underweight!!8364598ahdnsiorT&*T*(T#) WTF! I'm a healthy 110 pounds girl with excessive fat all over my body. Maybe that's not meant for people like me. =P More for those who love to eat a bowl of pho (viet noodles) bigger than the size of their own ass! GIGANTIC, ENORMOUS, HUGE, BIG, HUMONGOUS all in their dictionary. No offense ok, a lot of ppl in US really over inflate things, physically or scales wise.

A lot of models died of anorexia or bulimia recently and it has created quite a stir in the modelling industry. People especially those working in the industry have started to question whether it's appropriate to allow skin and bone models on the runway. One of the most recent cases was a Brazilian model, only 88 pounds, 5' 8" died of eating disorder. Her body or rather her immune system was too weak to battle the slightest bacteria infection. She died at the age of 21. Really people, it's so sad to hear news like this. How can you sacrifice your health for the sake of fame, glamour and some greenbags?? Tsk tsk tsk...skinny models are sending wrong message to the next generation. I think I saw somewhere a model's meal consists of apple and vegetables only. =S Yeah some models are defending this saying that not all models are battling eating disorder but truthfully, out of 100 models, guess how many are actually eating healthily. It's time for the government to put its intervention into this matter.

I was looking at wedding dresses with Siu Mun from a website and all the models got this hungry look on their face saying "FEED ME" or "I'M DYING, I HAVEN'T BEEN EATING FOR FEW DAYS NOW"!! Terrible...

Ok let's talk about something more happy. Dunno why I'm hungry again. haha...me go eat snack now!!

ciao!

Pay Per Post

I've recently signed up for payperpost and it actually pays you for blogging!

Try it!!

Here is the link:

Sun, Sea, Sand and Vacation

*Sponsored Post*

I will be doing a bit of traveling after my graduation and with that, it means a lot of hotel, air tickets, transportation etc etc that I have to take care of. Truthfully speaking, it is really a HUGE HUGE hassle for me to be looking everywhere for the right price, right place, right hotel bla bla bla. Sometimes I wish I could just click here and there without having to worry about anything at all, especially price!! It makes me want to pull my hair so hard!

Nowadays it's very easy to make an online booking esp for accommodation. You can just search website like this one Hotel Reservations which offers great deals on vacation packages, vacation rentals, flights, cars, hotels etc etc and not forgetting REBATES!!! You actually get money back!!!This is the best part of all. You book more than 3 nights short vacation, you get $20 back!! Well 20 bucks may seem like not much but when you are stressing and stretching on your budget, it means a lot!! You can also search for hotels all over the world, not only confined to US and Canada. This website is also perfect for those who are looking to rent a condo or apartment for short term stay. Usually other more commercialized websites do not provide service like this. I just did a search for my Hong Kong accommodation and the prices are very competitive and rebates rebates rebates, the main thing that attracts me to book with an online travel website. So don't wait. If you are looking forward to a future vacation or already in the planning, browse this website and the deals they have. Try Hotel Reservations

Working on my papers AGAIN!
Home made food that's left to rot

A little bit of fantasizing

Woke up this morning to find evidence of snow from last night

I slept pretty late last night. I felt so discouraged to work on my papers this afternoon thus part of pm was wasted on movies, videos and music. I was finally feeling the need to work again when the sun started to set.

It's going to be a freaking cold week for everyone here in the north. On Friday, it's going to be -5. Gotta stock up on hot drinks!!! My only consolation when feeling the blues of winter days.

I haven't been too productive ever since school started. Blame it on the weather. =P

Take care everyone and stay warm!

It's another boring weekend. It's the 4th of February folks. Another 10 days lovers will be celebrating Valentine's Day and not forgetting Chinese New Year! Oh man, I really really love chinese new year in Malaysia because everywhere you go is so festive unlike San Fran. I can just pig all day long during CNY and the good news is, it won't end in a day or two, it's freaking 15 days long! Chinese New Year is really my type of celebration. =) Starting next year I have to give ang pows so you guys have to be good and start forming a line so that aunty here can give a little red packet to you. =P

I received my first red packet for CNY in December! Early eh? hehe

Online hopping and shopping

Do you have a favorite online store? The world has progressed so much that it is difficult to be living without the internet or computer. Honestly, I'm one of those geeks who cannot live without internet. Just give me a pc and access to the world wide web, and I can survive. Two nights ago, I bought my groceries online. Yup, online. I can even shop for groceries by just clicking here and there.

(http://www.asda.co.uk) I think asda has great deals for groceries especially for students like me and besides, try searching online for coupons of free delivery or probably 10 off for puchasing over 50, something like that. I was able to find some free shipping evouchers (try entering this evoucher code to get free shipping M4 BG EH C2). For those not familiar with UK supermarkets, ASDA is also walmart just to clear things up. Well my delivery is up around 6pm, so, I gotta take a power nap now and can't wait to get my foods.

Valentine's Day is coming, so why not try shopping a gift online for your honey bunny? I just bought something for Gary online and shhhh, it's a surprise. Ya he has no time to read this blog so I can write whatever junk I want here!!!

Oh yes, I think those in Malaysia can also opt to send flowers through submitting your orders online. At least with google I could find more than 10 florists that handle online transaction.

Click here if you want coupon code for more great deals.
